…
he has a carry conceal permit so it’s perfectly legal and his right to carry his handgun loaded at all times as long as no part of it is visible. (except in areas probiden ie state buildings and schools)
i was referencing what cossey was saying.
lol…
def a good way for a cop to look you in the eyes and tell you to shut the fuck up and get out of the car with your hands behind your back.
The loaded magazine part of the law is in reference to firearms that have permanently attached box or rotary magazines(IE M1 or your off-shelf rem700), tube magazines(like a winchester 30-30LA), and detachable magazines that are currently attached to the gun(typical black rifle).
IE, it’s illegal for me to drive around with my .243 Savage hunting rifle with the rotary mag loaded, but 100% legal to drive around with my AR in the trunk and a loaded magazine in my glovebox.
The problem lies in with the people in high places who interpret the law incorrectly with thier own opinion injected into the situation…AKA the LEO’s, judges, and DA’s…and cause shit for the citizens that know it through and through and abide by them :banghead
Fairly expensive. $2K isn’t out of the question at all. The problem lies in that there really is no “mill spec” that the few manufactures follow, so your compatibility between parts of different manufactures is near zilch(pretty much the opposite of the AR15)
His carry conceal is irrelavent for a keltech rifle :dunno
this is what i was getting at… back to the original thought, a rifle under the seat, with loaded magazines next to it, or in the same case, under the seat, or anywheres not seperately will be consider a loaded gun by NYS.
im not saying youll end up getting convicted, but itll cost you plenty of resources to fight it.

I missunderstood his comment I thought he was talking about somebody with a CCP carrying a loaded handgun.
Yes, technically by the law it IS legal but if you get an LEO with a bunch up their ass they could give you grief. I’ve been stopped before and had officers look through the rifles to make sure there were no rounds physically in the chambers or internal mags and have looked over the the loaded ones elsewhere and have never had a problem. 99% of the time though I still don’t carry loaded detachable mags in the car for the AR’s and stuff.
The main problem is that the laws have not been updated at all to accommodate new products and standards… It’s the same bullshit with buying pistol ammunition for rifles. The law was written back before the advent of most of those firearms and it wasn’t legal to purchase the ammo w/o a fitting permit, and just hasn’t been updated to current standards in NY. It’s why just about any gun store will still sell you the ammo(because they know thins) and most other chain retailers(IE wallmart) tend to give you shit about it.
Sucks, no if ands or butts about it.
apparently you missed the sarcasm in my post, you honestly think id leave it loaded under my seat??
Does anyone have experience with antique firearm laws in NY? I think on a federal level, anything older than 1899 is antique.
I’m looking at a 1895 Nagant Revolver. I do not have a pistol permit. I was told I could legally own this revolver. Does the actual manufacture date have to be before 1899? Or just the model? The federal law includes “replicas” as being exempt.
It would be actual date of manufacture not model date. I honestly have no clue about the legality and whether or not it’s considered an antique firearm or not.
Hey if anyone has .223 brass laying around and doesn’t plan on reloading them, I’ll take em… I’ll prolly end up buying 1,000 rounds in a few days but figured it people dont use em and just throw em away or something you could keep me in mind.
I don’t throw any brass away, including 22lr
brass = money no matter how you look at it.
Ok just throwing out there incase anyone does I’ll throw them some money.
I’ve got a 90 round drum if ya wanna have some fun with your new gun chad
When and where lol
Remmington 1187 Premier Light Contour
Had this gun since 2001 as it was my HS graduation present. I replaced the wood stock several years ago so that it wouldn’t get get beat up anymore in the woods. This thing loaded with 5x 3" 00 buckshot weighs less than my stepdad’s regular 1187 empty
