Federal firearms license, you can’t have a gun shipped to your door, it has to be sent to a local gun dealer who will charge you small fee for it. Never done it that way so I can’t tell you much about it.
FFL mean its a registered firearms dealer. You pay a fee (determined by the dealer) usually 20-40 bucks, and they accept transfer of your firearm. You then pass the background check through said dealer.
Mosin’s can be had from $80+ on gunbroker.com
T&V charged me like, $35 for the FFL fees for the Tac 2.
Saw my boy Eldrid chiming in, figured I’d join in on the fun.
Here is my DMPS LR-308B. Ace Skeleton stock, Nikon Pro-staff 3x9x40, Magpul 20lr P-Mags, Target grip, Bi-Pod… Lots of upgrades to come!
I’ve seen this a few times, maybe someone can explain.
So he has an m4 handguard, gas system and front sights, but on a 20" (I think) barrel? What is the point, because it looks tacticool and sorta looks like an m4? :ponder
regardless its illegal in NY unless he has that stocked pinned in that location
I hate NY gun laws. Can’t even get a pistol without jumping through a dozen bureaucratic hoops.
And it will be limited to 10 rounds anyway.
the ar can have a 30rd mag as long as the mag was manufactured before 9/94 i believe…whatever the date was when the assault rifle ban began.
True, but in reality for civilians the 30rd mags are pointless. The guns are not fully auto and not blowing through ~800rds/min. No matter what you’re shooting at(esp hunting wise) if you can’t hit it with the first 1 or 2 rounds, let alone 10, then you shouldn’t be shooting anyway.
There are alot of other stupid NYS gun laws and regulations that I’m more upset over than the mag capacity.
Personally I don’t particularly care about 10 round limit on rifles since for range plinking it’s fine, and I don’t subscribe to the whole “I needs me a tacticool gun to fight teh zombehs” asininity. But it bothers me in regards to pistols for some reason :lol. Imported shotguns capped at 5 rounds are pretty silly as well.
all rifles are limited to 5 rds when being used for hunting no matter what the fire arm is. hell, i guess we are just lucky that the government even allows us to own guns at the rate we are going. lol
I just carry more mags :lol Most of out pistols are all older/preban so we have lots of ammo capacity to throw around.
I had looked into getting a 229 DAK but now I’m considering the 229 E2 because it’s more comfortable for my wife to shoot.
Bringing this thread back from the dead.
I want to start looking at pistols. What is the best gun dealer in the Albany area? Some place where the dudes aren’t a bunch of dicks would be cool.
Thanks!
My SKS when i first picked in with only the 20rd mag upgrade
Now how it sits with a TAPCO frame.
^ I was thinking about going with a frame kinda like that on my SKS, how do you like it?
This is a nice small little gun shop, he has a good selection though, family friend owns it.

Heres some of the guns Im considering buying(have to put a DP on one to get my permit through).
Kimber Solo Carry (9mm)
S&W M&P .45
Or possibly the S&W Bodyguard .380 (have heard about alot of issues with this pistol though…)
Once and IF lovely NYS decides to grant me my permit Id like to pick up a few others as well.
Thanks! I don’t mind driving, but any others that are good closer to the Latham area?
Top two are sweet. Def a neg on the .380
I love the tapco stock and its pretty reasonably priced. The adjustable stock and M249 grip are amazing. Installing it was easy and doesn’t take more than 10 min.
SKS is such an awesome gun
