I will prolly never agree with you again. But I do on this.
For some people who may complain… I think some of the rust holes on your cars look worse than a blue and yellow plate would.

What about the people who own more than one car? Its going to cost me and my wife $50 JUST to get the new 80’s style plates on our cars, and that dosent cover the cost of registration.
Yea, if your single and only have one car, then $25 is nothing, really…
REally who cares what a 6x12 license plate looks like on your car, pretty much everybody will have them. Its not gonna take away from what your car actually is… a year from now nobody is going to remember what the old plates even look like except PJB.
I’m just getting tired of all this bullshit of NYS trying to raise money from honest hardworking people, nickel and diming them to death on everything… I’d rather move to vermont but i’ve got a solid job so thats sorta out
Ive got a truck, a car (if I change my mind and decide to keep it), a trailer and a quad that are all going to need new plates eventually.
For VT I am 99% sure you need a PO box.
Call me. Been there and done it
whuts so special about vt???..i was thinkin about registering my trucks in florida so i don’t need a front plate and i can do what i want for emissions and no window tint laws…
It is illegal to maintain residency in NY and register your car in VT… Yes… True. There r a few ways to skin a cat. There are ways around it… but there can be insurance complications too. I explained it in another thread last month…Yes, I paid the extra $20 to “build bright futures” lol
the p.o. box will work for the the registration. Vermont and New york have different requirements for insurance. If you call your insurance company and try to switch it from ny to vt they require proof of residency. Rust does not matter in vt as long as you have duck tape. Also vt insurance is less than half of what i used to pay in ny
So…does anyone need me to pick up their mail for a small fee in their VT PO boxes?
You guys can spill out some extra cash and get a kitty cat plate:

You must obtain a Vermont vehicle registration upon establishing residency in this state. This must be done no longer than 60 days after moving to Vermont or if your out-of-state vehicle registration expires before the end of this 60-day period you must obtain a Vermont vehicle registration before it expires (whichever occurs first). Two facts that you should be aware of when registering a vehicle in Vermont are:
- All vehicles must have liability insurance coverage in an amount that is not less than the statutory minimums.
- Upon registering your vehicle you will have 15 days in which to get the vehicle inspected at a Vermont Licensed Inspection Station.
To obtain your Vermont vehicle registration you must provide DMV with the following:
* a completed Registration Application form (PDF document 424.7KB) , * the title to the vehicle (if the title to the vehicle is being held by the lien-holder you must provide DMV with the full name and address of the lien-holder and provide your most current original registration), * an updated (current) odometer reading, * proof of the dollar amount of tax paid on the vehicle to any previous state (proof of tax paid is not necessary if the vehicle is over 3 years old and you have the title or proof of registration for the past 3 years), o proof of paid tax is not required if you have owned the vehicle for over three years in a state that collects tax. * a “Visual Verification of Serial Number”, and * payment of any and all required fees.
hmmmm Jammer i will call you when i get a free second, hopefully tonight.
