The options you love/hate the most?

The auto makers constantly come up with new options. Some for safety, looks, power, etc. etc… Give me one that you wouldn’t want to be without, and the one that you think is the most useless, or waste of money. For me, power retractable running boards has got to be the biggest joke yet. ABS has saved my butt a few times, so now I feel like I need it. No right or wrong answers. So PLEASE no bickering, just post your own likes and dislikes.

likes: heated seats, blow up passengers for the carpool lane
dislikes: one touch power windows, lumbar inflator, gm

 to heated washer fluid on the new Buick.
 to heated wipers on the Subaru(I think its Subaru).
I wish I had those options.

worst has to be the factory sound system. the $800 or whatever you would spend on the ‘upgraded’ system u could easily use to get aftermarket stuff and it will sound A LOT better. i also thik the power adjustable pedlas are a waste too.

best has got to be some of the new performance SRT packages on some of the new DailmerChrysler products and i think HIDs (while standard on a lot of cars) are a good add-on as well

Automatic Trans=

SUNROOF!!= :slight_smile:

  1. Power Windows… will never own another car without them.
  2. AC.

Live without:

  1. Leather seats. The truck is the first I’ve had with them and between the heat and the cold they don’t impress me.
  2. “manu-matics”. Even the paddle shifter style with a real clutch. I don’t care if I can save .2 seconds to 60. If I wanted a click to shift I’d stay at home and play Gran Turismo.

They are starting next year where every new car needs to have a lever that you lift up to put the window up instead of just a rocker switch. To many kids dieing from hitting them with their heads out the window. Saw a thing about it on TV yesterday.

WORD!!! anything else i can live with.

wish i had abs, hate CRANK sunroofs

heated seats > *

I love one-touch windows.

Tilt steering column I never quite got. Every car I’ve had with it I just had it set in the straight position anyways.

Leather seats are nice in the moderate temps, but we only get those for like 5 weeks out of the entire year. My ass will either stick to the seat because the hot leather makes me sweaty, or I’ll slide around so damn much in the winter.

6-way Electric driver seat is awesome.

the OEM 6-speaker stereo ain’t too shabby either.

ABS + Traction Control + Snow tires = total control in the winter. I only fishtailed once, and that was on purpose.

And I’ll never drive a car that doesn’t have a steering wheel airbag.

 ABS – seriously saved my ass ~3 times
 Steering wheel mounted stereo controls
 HIDs
 In-dash cd changer
 In-glass AM/FM antenna

love my heated seats and mirrors, and the stock stereo.
hate the lack of powa.

Yeah i dont like tiptronics and manu-matics and all that shit. Let me shift my own gears thank you. I think ABS isnt all its cracked up to be considering a good driver with standard/non abs brakes will have more control, that and ABS usually LENGHTENS stopping distances. In dash Cd changers are cool but the trunk mounted ones suck.

I cant live without power windows or fold down seats (so you can put big shit in the back of your sedan)

Heated windshield is the best option, and it’s not like the regular fan defroster, it actually has defroster lines in the glass that are nearly invisible. Only reason I wish I had a new Explorer.

This is what I’m talking about. New stuff that makes driving safer and easier, more enjoyable. Not just some gimmick that taxes the already overloaded 12 volt system. I’m gonna look for an aftermarket washer fluid heater for my 4X4. Ha! I guess DVD players aren’t too big with people here. Thought for sure someone would say NAV. system.

i hate the nav systems, its more distracting that cell phones and eating combined

Love Automatic headlights, auto tint mirrors, and heated and cooled seats. Also like the back up sensors

I really hate the Mirrors on infintis that change angle when you put them in reverse.

yea do you really need to look at the fuckign curb, new GMs do it too
