So I was listening to a police chase on the scanner yesterday. A guy had stolen a red Honda in Leduc and was making his way down Airport Road. Traffic was light and the chase was hitting 160km/h. There were a number of officers in pursuit and with no traffic around they were keeping up easily
The driver then made a pretty smart move. He turned on 50st and headed through Beaumont. Traffic got heavy, he started passing on the right shoulder and he was still speeding by quite a bit. A collision was pretty probable, so police called of the chase and kept following the car, but didn’t exceed the speed limit. Since the car was still flying, he lost police quickly and the chase was pretty much over.
Buuuuuuuut, the fucktard decides to turn his car around and head back towards Airport Road. With the cops still heading north it isn’t long before the meet head on. The chase quickly resumes.
Panicking the driver and the passengers ditch the car and bail over a fence. One male was caught (They could have caught more but the Leduc RCMP closed the patch so I couldn’t keep listening).
Moral of the story: If police are chasing you and you lose them, KEEP GOING. Don’t turn around and let them catch up to you!
And that is why criminals are criminals. They are just too stupid to do anything else.
