I was at the game yesterday. There was massive booing during the anthem. Quite the contrast to the WWII hero they brought out during an intermission and the Air Force crew. Those guys all got standing ovations from everyone.
Yikes. Lost some respect for Tomlin just now.
Haha. Definitely had to look back and forth a few times on that one.
Hereās what the game operations manual says regarding the national anthem, according to an NFL spokesperson:The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

I found that on the internet so it must be true.
^ Fixed it for yaā¦
From your linkā¦
"So, is it true?
Technically, yes. But itās not in the āNFL rule book.ā "
Even the game operations manual only says that they have to be on the sideline for the anthem. It doesnāt say anything about standing, kneeling or otherwise.
āshould stand at attentionā
Donāt players get fined at times for āexpressingā themselves in the end zone? ie dancing . At the end of the day whether itās Hollywood stars or Football stars, they are there to entertain and nothing more. Pretending that the opinions of aforementioned characters matter, and that they can be role models for anything but work ethic, is a joke. They should stick to what the customer wants and that is entertainment. The amount of politics in Movies and Sports is a huge turnoff. How representative is HBOās āBallersā of Football in real life? Honest question, Iām curious.
Just play your throwing ball sport and shut the fuck up. We didnāt elect you to express your opinions, you werenāt drafted to bring light to anything. You were hired to play bouncy helmet, so fucking play it and shut up.
LMAO!
yo i think this is where to talk about immigraton on here right?
there was some really tremendous journalism by CBC The National on some of these refugees and a US border guard today:
and
sometimes Canadian journalism steps its game up.
you cannot help but have compassion for the mothers in these videos
As Iāve said before, good luck with this Canada. I donāt see it ending well for your economy.
it will be a challenge.
I have had some meetings with immigration people and am going to actually try and help with this situation but there are so many moving pieces that putting effective programs together is nearly impossible.
the easiest thing to do would be to sit back and be critical. i dont want to do that.
but it is very interesting to see how effective Trumpās word are at getting done exactly what he set out to do.
as i said though, if you watch those videos and the raw scenes as the people pull up to the borderā¦ you cannot help but have compassion for these people. maybe you dont want to and chose to not see what they are struggling with but it would not be any better to willfully ignore some realities here.
Rock on, brother. :tup::tup::tup::tup:
This post got all messed up with that āare you sure you want to leave this pageā posting bug.
What happens when hundreds of thousands of poorly educated, low skilled individuals enter into a country and have access to a socialized healthcare?
What I see is a broken system that shouldnāt have brought them to the US on a temporary visa in the first place when itās clear they had no intention of staying temporarily. It goes back to that gumball video I posted. The problems of the world canāt be fixed with immigration to countries that have less problems. There are simply far too many humans in terrible parts of the world to just move them to 1st world countries. I donāt have a clue how you start propping up the 3rd world but relocation definitely isnāt going to work.
I was curious about these visa overstay people so I did a little digging.
629000 people overstayed their visaās last year alone.
The highest rates of overstays were from countries outside the visa-waiver program. For example, 13 percent of the visitors from Afghanistan overstayed their visas, while nearly 11 percent of those from Iraq overstayed. The highest rates of overstays were from African countries. A quarter of all visitors from Burkina Faso and Djibouti overstayed their tourist or business visa.^ Thatās broken. When 25% of all visitors from a country overstay itās time to seriously rework who youāre giving those visas too.
