The Ultimate Automotive Gift

ehhhhh, yeah…If that’s the kind of thing you’re into. Not for me though. You’ll never see any post from me with a $10k longblock inside.

I sort of agree on this…but I generally don’t think a whole new garage plus tools and shit = one gift. I guess you could argue that as long as it fits within the 10k, it’s game. I was thinking this was generally meant to be a sort of single item gift.

This. 10K can keep you busy during a summer of track days.

A nice set of wheels and tires and a massive gas card… and 2 weeks vacation.

Money is relative man. You think people buying 10-20k longblocks are changing their lifestyle any more then avg joe trying to get some coilovers or whatever? No waiiiiiii

the shop is the gift, it just happens to have all that shit inside it already. :eekdance:

Dart big block shortblock so I can do a twin turbo 555 and run 8’s on pump gas… 10K should cover most of the motor and then some

and yes 10K will get you a decent long block if you build a chevy

There ya go! That is a motor right there.

Oh snap!! so thats like me having 20k to play with? lol!!

A goddamn garage

Not about that…I’m just not interested in spending 10k on a motor (or any other single item) for a project. I like building cars, but I still don’t forsee myself ever spending that much on 1 item. MAYBE body work if I’m restoring something vintage, that’s definitely the exception to that. If my life gets to the point where that amount of money is a bit easier to come by, I’ll be driving a super baller sports car/exotic/whatever…

If you say so.

this.

i’d really like a built single turbo 2jz for my supra. that, or take the money and build the 7m that’s in it.

A fully built motor for the vette … minus the parts I already have that leave enough to beef up the rear end and tranny.

Would a track bike and gear count as an automotive gift?

huge turbo kit
mini tub
4 link suspension

i just wanna go fast like joefoureye

Josh, is Lindsay buying you a $10k automotive gift?

You think Jeff would actually finish your car for half that?

I think it’s awesome that people have such different opinions of what they’d want. So far the groupings seem to be:

  • driving adventure
  • racing practice
  • shop and/or tools
  • go fast stuff!

It’s not a surprise at all as to who is falling into these groups either.

oh wait, i’m 18 i think i should change what i posted…

I need mad go fast parts for a civic y0! i don’t own a civic but i still need them go fast parts!!!1!!!111!!!

yeah… no.

you retarded boy?

I meant that the people with serious drag cars would choose to spend the 10k on parts (motor/turbo kit/etc…)

true story.
and those without the drag cars want a place to build one hahaha
