Well I figured this deserved a post.
Back in October 2013 I went to Las Vegas and had a few too many Dr. Peppers which led to a fairly blurred and eventful night that resulted in me losing my phone along the way somewhere. I was really disappointed as there were many pictures from the trip as well as some of my friend who had passed away weeks before. As well as the pictures, our last conversation which happened the night before he passed. Being an idiot, I had never backed up the pictures or anything so once the phone was gone, so was everything else. I sent out the message through “find my iphone” saying call this number if found, no luck. Figured it was long gone.
Today, I get a screen shot of this…
So now I am laughing hysterically as somehow this phone has made it almost seven months. Still at this point I figured they were keeping it. So I asked them where they found it and tried to get a story. Apparently, they bought it from someone on Craigslist who must have had two phones, one working and unlocked and my phone, passcode and locked. Showed them the unlocked phone, went to grab the box for it which already had my locked phone in it, and gave them the box and left immediately. I figured, well they paid for it and the pictures are worth whatever they paid, if not more, to me. I offered to pay them the $300 they spent on it if they would send it back, they replied with this…
I still said I need to pay you back somehow, they asked for the following:
a box of watermelon sour patch kids
a photo of me with a corny smile holding the phone
So, I plan on sending them those and then also sending back the phone restored so they can use it with a thank you note…
