Could care less what people do with their money. But the ones donating NOW (after this lady who probably makes $30k a year and just got handed 16 years salary in one lump sum SOFAR) better not complain about paying for shit that’s NEEDED around them, property taxes for example. Because someone who made a life on the money she did up to this point, doesnt NEED a new Lambo, so its just over the top at this point. All I am sayin.

Funny, because I’ve never bitched and complained about my salary. It’s not awesome or extravagant, but it’s livable, which I am highly thankful for.
Also, summers off? I work summer school and coach almost everyday in the summer. When I’m not doing that, I’m planning curriculum for next year. I always get a kick out of people when they say that.
Maybe some teachers take from June 22nd-Early September completely off, but it’s no one I know/am friends with.
If everyone knew where every cent of their tax dollars went, I think there’d be MORE people complaining about paying taxes. People complain about paying taxes because government spending is out of control.
Also, she doesn’t have to pay tax on any of the money she receives.
The gift tax is on people who gift more than $12k to someone else. The donor would pay the taxes, not the recipient.
I’m not saying there isn’t teachers that don’t complain, but in the past I have heard plenty of time on the news about teachers protesting about their jobs. I guess I look at it like this, they should have researched the job a little more before going to college to become a teacher, that would be like me enlisting in the Marines without knowing ANYTHING that I was getting into LOL.
I think teachers in NY are mostly pissed that things have changed DRASTICALLY in the past 10 years with little or no say from them. Things are completely different from when I first started, and not in a good way. I think most intelligent people research what they are going to do, as did I. No one gets into teaching for the money, believe that. Marines, huh? Awesome. My sister (Captain) and her husband (Major) are both in the armed services.
