These last 15 hours have really been rather interesting

no offence PumiceT but there is a large difference between learning manual on your RSX (not alot of torque & only burning the front tires) as opposed to an STi (some torque & AWD lurching about)… imo

that makes sense why you werent answering your phone now. fggt!

I find it funny that the kid will learn how to drive stick on a 20k car…

If you are spending 20k, I would almost want to spend 900 bucks on a cackord and drive that for a few months before I stepped it up.

I learned on a 89 jetta gli that I had to tow home when I bought it from my buddy. Once we got it running, the syncros were completely fucked.

Now that is a good way to learn how to drive stick, drive the biggest piece of shit in the universe.

My brother bought a modified tbird supercoupe (330ft pound torque stock), that was a stick. He had me drive it home from ohio for him, while he trailed in my fathers minivan. That was a fun trip…

The next day he kept going around our block, running stop signs, because he couldn’t get the car going from a dead stop without stalling it.

wow i feel bad for that car :frowning:

haha, ok, some angry 20 year old who just bought an expensive car gave me negative feedback for my comment.

I am sorry. You are so baller and I am such a poor loser. :roll2:

meh its just a car.

lol, every time he mentions $, you just jump right in to the situation. At least it is a safe car with immobile b-pillars.

I learned on a 93 Geo Metro… loved every minute of it. <3

fucking seriously

anyway, back outside of planet car; story rocks

you ARE a poor loser shrugs

I learned on a brand new C6 Z51 :gotme: learning on a warranty clutch > buying one.

I drove stick for my first time when I bought my firebird… Didn’t stall until I got to the toll booth. lol

I just played way too many hours of Gran Turismo.

Poor Suby.

this only would happen to you! i love it.

nice make that money…i hope the kids clutch and or car is ok hell getthe nack after a few clutches

who cares if he’s having trouble. he will learn how to drive it not a big deal. and LOL at the people who think it’s unimaginable to earn 20k by 20 years old. regardless it’s his business anyway.

good story though

rollin with 10 stacks

i have a similar story…

Guy has never driven a stick car before in his life…knows how to ride a motorcycle…so has some idea how a clutch works, but very little…and none with a car.

decides to buy a car 6 hours away…and a few days before going to pick it up, takes one half lap around the eastern hills mall in a tercel 5 speed…barely getting out of 1st gear and into 2nd once or twice…stalling the rest or over revving hard core…

kid drives with a friend from cheektowaga to new jersey to pick up new car…and gets in it, and drives it home. didn’t stall once!..but needed a new clutch immediately after :frowning:

ps:

main character in story was me, and i fucked that clutch up real good.

the kid in your story is nuts…but he may have gotten a deal too good to turn down…and the only way to learn to drive stick is to get in the car and do it. maybe reading a little or doing a bit of homework to learn some of the basics may have been a good idea…but i can’t hate on him too much considering i only had to replace my clutch once, and then was able to beat the piss outta it for a few years before breaking the rest of the car.

^^^

I agree. I learned in my dads 95 galant. I took the car out the day after I got my license and just drove it…but i didnt roast the clutch lol

I’d be worried about the cdiff if he’s doing hairy burnouts
