word… first manual i ever drove was my 96 240sx drove it home from the purchase… i had a few disco party starts but don’t think i stalled it even once?
and yea… 20k is like, less than a new civic, who cares it’s an sti the transmissions are rock solid and shift nicely, if anything he will learn faster and better on that (all though the clutch engagement is obv. faster than on a 60 ft/lbs honda)
I learned how to drive on a manual car. My family only had one a/t car and that was mom’s lexus. Not a chance I was learning how to drive a car in that thing(woulda been nice). A lot of stalls at traffic lights sweating it out. My first car was an a/t though.
that’s like me, my first brand new car was also a manual, 96 grand am gt. The sales guy handed me the keys and shook my hand, then I asked him to show me how to drive stick. That clutch lasted the whole time I had the car like 60k miles.
I didnt mean to come off as saying it’s not possible to earn $20k at age 20. I just don’t think it a wise idea to spend that much money on a car at that age.
I guess I am wrong? I don’t claim to know everything.
wow, thanks for the life lesson. Know anyone else who is stupid enough to buy a car that costs less than most peoples yearly depreciation on their car, so I can unload this crappy investment?
1ST time i drove manual…I was 12. Pops MADE me move his truck. Faught him to the death about doing. Wanted me to back it up, and almost wiped out the whole back end into a 100’ pine tree behind the house. Freaked out, jumped out of the truck and ran into the woods.
