Today, I was thinking about high school, and I ended up wondering if any of the non-white kids there felt weird about being in a school with these kind of numbers:

White - 98.8%
Black - 0.8%
Asian, Pacific Isl. - 0.2%
Native American - 0.2%
Hispanic - 0.1%

Not that race should mean anything, but I think it might be weird at times to be the only one of my ethnicity at school. I’ve never really been in that position. Then I was like, “Is there really anywhere in the U.S. where I’d be ‘the only white guy’?”

So, I found a high school in Compton:

White - 0.2%
Black - 37.2%
Asian, Pacific Isl. - 1.4%
Native American - 0.0%
Hispanic - 61.2%

I guess you learn something new every day.
