As far as weight, remember that the LS1 is all aluminum, and the DSM has a cast iron block. Then again, the T56 is probably heavier, but then again, they removed some things, such as the transfer case and such.
I don’t know, it would really be interesting to get weight quotes on both. I’m sure it’s on Google, but I don’t feel like searching.
