Not for tipped employees it’s not… he’s trying to say that if tipped employees made $5.15 an hour, then we would clear 27K. Problem is that tipped employees make $2.83/hour.

If an employee’s tips combined with the employer’s direct wages of at least $2.13 an hour do not equal the federal minimum hourly wage, the employer must make up the difference.

wait til you turn 24. the reason why you didnt get fin aid is that the fed gov is also looking at your parents income to come up with your expected family contribution, even though they probaby dont give you a dime.

damn dude. what school did you apply to? i work here at pitt in addmissions and financial aid as an advisor. and going by what you told me, you should have gotten full financial aid with loans and grants. however, you might have topped out your loan and grant limit if you were attending college before. or if you did not meet the minimum amount of credits or gpa to move on to the next level of fin aid. if this is the case you still might be elligible if you get a letter fom a dean. man if you need help, hit me up with a pm.
i carry a 3.0 + gpa and have 3 years of college. my total amt of student loans so far = 10k and im paying on them. i have no grants and everything i have ever gotten for college i have to pay back. dunno makes me not wanna pay taxes

shit i pitt pays for 90%my grad school tuition, i get a decent salary with all the benefits, i’m single and i still qualified for 15k in student loans.
i did the same thing for my undergrad working for pitt, going part time in school and i still qualified for grants and loans up to 11k a year.
someone at your college is fuckng up you financial aid or there is something different. but it should all be the same since its all run by the federal government and the state.
dunno guy that was doing it said they turned down a single mom that made 3k more than me… wv must really fuckin suck for financial aid
i was lucky enough to get a merit scholarship at duquesne. my parents make too much for me to qualify for any ‘need’ based financial aid. thank god for my merit scholarship, i don’t know how i would pay ~33k/year.
What makes this more disgusting, is that out of all that money my husband and I give the government… I got the letter in the mail today saying that I’m not getting one fucking cent to go to school.
