“Partially hydrogenated oils are used extensively in the restaurant business because they have a long shelf life and are well suited for cooking crispy, crunchy foods, said Penny Kris-Etherton, a professor of nutritional sciences at Penn State University. Despite the versatility and pleasing taste of the oils, there is a broad scientific consensus that trans fats are unhealthy, contributing to high cholesterol and heart disease, Kris-Etherton said.”

OMG FRIED CHICKEN IS FATTY! I HAD NO IDEA! I’M SUING!
It’s complete BS that they are attacking a single company to try and make a statement. If they feel that trans fats are a serious enough health risk that there needs to be further labeling in restaurants then they should try to get a law passed, not try to get the attention of the media and thus the public through a lawsuit against a single company. That’s exploitation of our legal system and it needs to stop. It’s not right. It’s not what our legal system is meant to do.
