This just in!

Nissan Altima COUPE!!!

looks very very similiar to the G35 and 350z Platform.

It will be a 2.5 Litre RWD!

so for all the altima die hard fans, your wish has come true!

if the price is right i might even considering taking it for a test drive

Interesting…sadly they werent very original in their design by the look of it, it just looks like a slightly modified G35 design.

here are 2 more pics

looks very similar… to the g35/350… those cars are almost too similar as they are, pretty funny they came out with a 3rd one.
nice ride, anyways

it wont be rwd, it’ll be fwd.

why is it funny? they’re marketing to people who can’t afford g35/dont like rwd cars. It’s called styling cue’s. The maxima, altima, new sentra, all have similar design features. It make perfect sense for them to market a 2 door version of the altima against 2 door accords and solara’s.

A convertible could be in the mix in a year or so after release.

Read this will be FWD with both '07 Altima motor options. No word on the SER, thats what I’m waiting for

i think this is the same car

looks nice… could it be considered the next 240 if its RWD? cheap… rwd… 2.5L (only .1 from the 240, lol) 2 doors… would be awesome if it WERE the next 240… i guess its just wishfull thinking

I’d have to say 100% sure this will be FWD else it would kill the G35 coupe market. Plus look at the huge FWD style wheel gap in the front.

It’s definitely a FWD car, for the reasons you guys already stated, and another: it’s an Altima! They wouldn’t name it that if it wasn’t part of the family, and they’re not going to make a whole new drivetrain (no other car in their lineup has a RWD 2.5liter) just for this coupe.

Still, it’s a very attractive looking car. And given the driving dynamics of the newest Altima sedan, I think it will end up being a terrific, fun car. It could take a serious bite out of the Honda Civic coupe market.

I think Nissan’s focus is more focused on taking a chunk of the Accord Coupe market which has had no competition for many years, except the Solara which isn’t even close in sales.

My bad… you’re right. I keep thinking the Altima is a Civic competitor. Silly me.
