This years project: Slow & Ghey

What are your plans after/if it breaks?

Lets just say it will be a project that will really piss both the import, domestic crowd. :snky:

“If” it breaks? With 190k on it how can it not?

To my knowledge no SHO has ever borken a rod, EVER. They are good size and quality FORGINGS. But rod bearing on the other hand, the tend to go spinning.

Rofl, did Alex ever show you the thread on superhighoutput.com, where his friend put up a post stating he broke a rod with a stock motor, and they called pics or bs.

hahaha
Fair enough.
So the general idea is the tranny will die first then??

Side Note to all who didn’t know, just in case those SHO v6’s are built by YAMAHA.

and are built by the same engineers who made the formula one motor’s to i believe? correct me if i’m wrong i don’t want to spread shit. but yea i remember hearing that during the Hard testing where they basically spin them at full load on an engine dyno till they blow up and said something about spinning them out to 10,000 rpm for hours at a time with no blow up’s and at the stock redline they went for 24 hour periods… insane shit. i don’t know if any of that is true or exaggerated but i heard some from a SHO fanatic and read an article somewhere on the intraweb about the testing… regardless it’s a sweet motor stuck in a heavy boxy sedan.

if you are gonna do that wacky standing-start drag thingy, I’ll take halfshafts for $500, alex.

if zee tranny goes I know where you can get a freshly rebuilt one with a sachs clutch and a quaife…

BUMP

M112 sitting on top of what will soon be it’s intake, almost ready to be lined up on the engine before final cutting takes place. Thanks a ton to Hybrid for plasma cutting the plate steel for me.

Also thanks to the following thus far:

Focusinprogress - Cheapo racing seats and other random parts to make this work.
HotRodKid - Knowledge to do fab work
tpgsr - Dremel tool to work off the rough edges.

this will be a fun ride, and even more of a sleeper.

PS thanks for telling your bro about the engine, he called me last night and now has a PM.

With so many types of welding out there it can be confusing:
MIG
TIG
Arc
J-B

I decided this would be the most entertaining route.

Actually the only time I ever used it was to fashion a drain plug for the rear end in the Mustang. Worked like a charm.
