Hello, just curious on oem vs aftermarket throw out bearings such as NSK.
i was putting my tranny back together and i noticed that the oem design TOB allowed the carrier to spin as a whole unit and the NSK unit
(rb-0111)(nsk-62tkc4001) only has a face that spins. im assuming that it is still functional because they still provide the basic action.
Any thoughts on pros and/or cons to the two designs?
Anybody using the nsk?
Thanks, let me know.
i donno much about the after market throw out bearing…
but afaik throw out bearing doesn’t affect teh perfromance of the car as long as they are in gd working condition(worst case they will make noise…)
and i don think a oem one is too $$$
i rather get a oem one in that i know it wouldn’t do nething funny…
cuz we all know it is a bxtch to take out after everything goes back together…
I have an NSK in with my CenterForce… I trust it more than the shitty ones Nissan carries in stock.
May not be true in all cases, because I have gone there on two separate occasions and they had 2 different types to offer me… As well, Centerforce has sent me about 3 or 4 different ones (for a group buy I did a while back).
NSK is one of the top brands, along with Koyo, SKF and FAG.
To answer your question about the design, the performance, long or short term, will not be affected by the difference in design.
