Throw out bearing

Hey, i got a new 240, 89 with enough KMS on the engine ( going sr soon) but the tranny at the moment is making that kncking noise due to the throw out bearing. i know it is, cause when i step on the clutch, it goes away. was wondering how do i change that thing?? or u can’t?thanks

Pull off the transmission along with the bellhousing.

yea kelvin, drop the tranny, the TOB is located with the clutch.

how do i replace it, literally, replace it…just a few bolts?honestly, i never taken off 240 tranny’s yet.

How do you replace the TOB?

It’s very simple, the hardest part is removing the tranny/bellhousing and then reinstalling it.

TOB slips on, and is sandwiched between the pressure plate’s fingers and the clutch fork.

when u come up ill show you, you need a bearing press… i did mine a while ago when i did my clutch. i may have the old one laying around

man ive never had any bearing not make that fuckin noise. 4 trannys, 3 clutches, live with it. i always left it alone, not worth the hassle.

possible pilot bearing???

A bearing press for a throwout?
I assume you’re talking about the pilot bushing.

i belive so lol been a while…
