Tiburon Body Control Module?

It’s not that hard to replace either, it’s under the steering column on the left side. I’ve replaced a couple (common problem, I work at Northtown) if you saw the thing you would be shocked, it’s a plastic box with a circuit board in it, probably cost $8 to make.

Its actually the whole fuse box if i remember correctly mike, I saw this car in the shop today. This is a very very common problem with these cars, If you want pm me and i’ll see what i can do for you (at least on the parts end). And if she’s extra hot, have her come in and i’ll work the service writers for ya!

she’s a blonde bombshell. unfortunately, she has some hardware on her finger.

damn lol, didnt really matter anyway i’d help out anyone on the board. Offer stands if you need it!

Yeah, she is extra hot, and extra married. Fail. :stuck_out_tongue:

She already brought the car home, paid $100 for the diagnosis. Now I’m working on sourcing it as cheaply as possible. Some of you fine gentlemen have offered to find the new part for me, and I’m going to check some junkyards for it.

It’s P/N 95480-2C320 if anybody has time to check their price for me.

I’ll be in touch if I get a hold of a part and can’t figure out how to swap it.

Thanks a million guys. If I can ever return the favor just let me know.

lol where did my post go

yo fry, pics arent loading

thats what im sayin… everyone talks about this hottie

Sorry, gotta drink with me to see my women.

Back on topic: cheap BCM and how to not Fry it while installing…

make sure the Batt is not hooked up and that is the real issue

Haha yeah I’ll be sure and disconnect the battery before I swap it. Supposedly this is a common problem, and also what the dealership diagnosed and quoted her for, so I’m pretty confident in the diagnosis. The parts girl even gave her the part number because she felt bad about how much they were trying to charge my friend.

Sweet. The junk yard in rochester happened to have the exact part number and offered a 90 day warranty. $75 shipped.

Anyone know if I’ve got to rip the dash apart to get at this thing? Anything special aside from unplug the battery, yank out the old one, plug in the new one, cross my fingers, then reconnect the battery? Does the dealership have to reprogram the key fobs?

Yeah, I know. But it’s such a cheap POS and is easy to replace.

The lower cover on the driver side under the steering column is all you have to remove, it has a lot of connectors going to it, but it’s not hard to do. Just a little time consuming if you’re not familiar with that type of work. As for the key fobs, IIRC that is stored in the ETACS module, which is separate from the BCM.

Well, I’m an advanced control systems engineer by day so… I’m sure I’ll really fuck it up.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Shouldn’t be a problem. Thanks for the tip!

I would offer to help, but it would surely fault.

 Not everything can be networked…

I’m only good at fixing things because I’m usually the one who breaks them

The $75 dollar junk yard part seems to be working like a charm. Thanks for input.
