Tire Warenty questions

I leased a 2010 Nissan Rogue for my wife and the inner sidewall just blew out on a my oe continental tire that has only 6k miles on it. and been driven less then 6 months.

any thoughts on my chances of getting it replaced for free? would the dealer cover this as well? hasn’t been through a pothole. got the vehicle at west herr nissan.

I’d take it back and wouldn’t leave the dealer without a new free tire. They should cover this for you.

Warranty.

were u high when u typed this??

thank you both… yes… it should be warenteeed

lol no… I was running out the door when i posted it so it’s a little conveluted. sorry.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts though as jumbled as they were.

I think people in this thread are the ones smoking. You may get it replaced if you are lucky, have a good service manager, etc. Sidewall blow outs a lot of time are attributed to hitting potholes and such even if they are a manufacturing defect. Even then, the dealer would likely say you needed to pursue the tire warranty, not the car warranty which most likely specifically excludes tires.

i’m sure it “just blew out”, you never hit a pothole, or never ran over a seam in the pavement, or hit a bump for that matter. i bet you never left your driveway and jacked up the car and the tires never saw the road for that matter so it must be a problem with the tire.

Well it never did hit a pot hole. It was practically still new and only had 6k on it and the innerside wall blew out which almost never happens… Anyway there was no sign of a puncture or belt stress that is indicative of hitting a pothole. It just blew out. So thanks for the unneed narcisism.

At anyrate the tire got replaced free of charge.

^congrats
