Tmobile G1 >= Iphone?

Edit

Came out today apparently. Anyone know anything more about it?
I searched, but I didn’t find any posts on it yet.

There are reviews all over the net for it that have been popping up on tech blogs like engadget, gizmodo, arstechnica, etc.

The general feeling seems to be that it’s okay but lacking some polish. A good majority of the reviews compare the G1 to the iPhone and you can pretty much guess how that goes.

All in all, I hope Google/developers can get things polished up a bit because I wouldn’t mind having a non-apple smartphone with a solid OS.

I just dont see the sexiness in that one. Maybe next year when the other ones come out, there will be more of a following but this phone has very littly hype.

function > hype. Not saying this phone has function. I’m just saying I don’t care what the other 260m Americans are buying, as long as I have a phone that works good.

hence, why you have a BB.

honestly tho, never owned a blackberry so i ask the question: what function does a blackberry serve other than a physical keyboard over the iphone?

they both have thier own “apps” and software. is it just preference of interface similar to why people liked the palmOS?

Tactile keyboard, push e-mail, and it almost never freezes. Some of it could be preference for some people, but a lot of people run their businesses on BBs, you don’t want a phone thats going to glitch and freeze on you constantly.

I can’t really say its preference or interface because most of the people that are getting BBs these days are getting it as their first BB ever. I rarely upgrade someone who already has a BB to another BB. 95% of the time I’m selling a BB its either their first smart phone or they are coming from a WinMo/Palm/iPhone device.
