199.99 x 36 = 7199.64 = Brand New Subaru for 3 years
or her other alternative to buy a used VW that might break and will end up being worth shit in the end. I think the lease is the much better option

who honestly drives under 10k a year for a DD on here?
I think this is a good option for someone who has knowledge of fixing vw’s and can repair it if it breaks. For someone who just wants to get from point a to b without worry and the luxury of a warranty. A lease is a good option.
That’s why it pays off to know people on this board. I can say thanks to sailor for his help with my car
i have never put 10k on a car in a year. i have no idea how because it seems like i used to drive alot… :dunno:
I owned my 2000 cavalier from 6/00 til 10/2002 and put 46k on it and had my eclipse from 10/2002-10/2004 and put 38k on it. then again i was driving 90 miles a day for work for a year. greensburg to mcknight road.
this last year ive only done about 12k but it seems like alot more.
good luck with the new car buying…or should i say leasing. take it from someone who got OWNED bigtime…make sure you read the fine print! ill never ever lease another thing in my life!
my gf’s mom as the awd new basic imprezza and its actaully pretty nice… 199 a month with no down payment isn t bad at all for a new car… then in 4 yrs she can turn it in and get another new car or buy one…
im not positive but i think lease’s have higher insurance rates!
It is a very nice car. Hers was a little more for the a/t and $135 mudflaps!!! but oh well.
The insurance was a little on the high side for someone with no accidents or tickets…but it will be dropping next year plus we can shop around, maybe go with a larger company than what she has now.
the only problem is you have to make sure she can keep paying the payments for those 3 years & wants to keep the car for 3 years. getting out of a lease early is UGLY to say the least.
I keep her in line…
i see ur point on leasing, and the prices i quoted on repairing the vw are for of the street people, obviously a shit ton cheaper if you do it yourself.
either way, jap car will be more dependable than a german/british/domestic car, even if gm owns a share in them. i just dont agree w/ paying money on a lease, and not owning the car. only car i’d think of leasing is maybe a domestic, b/c they depreciate like champs. but then again, if i go domestic, it will be old domestic…
Some Old Fuck Backed Into Her Car Today!!! Fuck Old People! Do Not Drive! You Suck At Life And Should Either Stay At Home Or Ride The Bus! If You Drive And You Suck At Life Then U Should Die!!! Or Have Some Fucking Respect For Other Peoples Property! Nobody Gives A Fuck About You Because Ur Old! 1 Day And Its Already Fucked Up!!! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!
im sorry thats funny but it def sux and id be pissed
damn that beats me… at least my car was 3 months old when some asshole fuck backed into it and dipped.
x2…
don’t you get penalized now because it was damaged…
shoulda broke his hip
See, that’s what I’m talking about… somebody doing the Math.
My GF is in the same situation (some of you might remember me posting about car ideas for her MONTHS ago… we’ll she’s still driving the same POS that she was then). She really can’t go much above $200/mo. for payments. So where does that put her in the used car market? Just under $10k financed (and she doesn’t have much to put down… so we’re talkin’ a $12k car here MAX if I help a bit) figuring a 5 year loan. So she gets a car for around $12k total, puts $2k down and pays $200/mo for the next 5 years while putting about 12k mi/yr on it.
In 5 years what does she have to show for it? Sure she owns a car but it’s value will be NEXT TO NOTHING. It will have 60k more miles on it (and it probably started pretty high since it was only a 12k car). With depreciation etc. the car will be worthless. And she spent 5 years driving a not so great car that SHE had to pay for all repairs on.
Now if she leases she probably has to put money down up front, let’s figure the same $2k. She pays $200/mo for the next 3 years to drive a brand new, fully warrantied car. At the end of the 3 years she can trade up to another new car lease (unless financial situations are different then and she can buy new) and be in a '09 model year car.
So with the purchase route in 5 years she owns a late 90s early 2000s car but it’ll be 2011. Sure, she owns it and it may be worth a few grand. But I’d bet the barn over the 5 years she had it she would have paid more than the few grand it’s worth in repairs. Going the lease route she won’t own a damn thing but be driving a '09 or '10 model year car in '11 that she hasn’t paid a dime to repair.

I feel your pain. Some old lady at giant eagle in monroeville ran into my moms ride. The funny thing about it was when she saw she couldnt make the bend she took her hands off of the steering wheel and covered her eyes.no bull.lol. I couldnt beleive it when i saw this lady do this. Then when i went up to her to check and see if she was alright, she acted like she was having a heart attack. I couldnt imagine though just having a car for 1 day and someone hitting it. Any damage? :spank:
