To my closest friends....i bid farewell. (UPDATED Post #142)

LOL, not at all. The only thing that went as planned was that she said yes. I wanted to do it on the Corcovado Mountain under the statue of christ (not that I’m religious but it would be a cool place to do it), but when we went it was pouring rain and we couldn’t see more than 200 feet so I decided to wait. Planned on doing it on the hotel balcony and then when I went there it was closed off to set up for a wedding. So I ended up doing it in the hotel room… Kind of sucks but it worked out in the end.

well congratulations anyway.

Congrats and welcome to the club…If you need any help planning as Jessica said - I can help you out if you decide not to be so simple

Congratulations Josh!!

damn, how romantic. congrats!

^ thanks

shit…my plans have already shifted from being plain and simple. (because they are slowly becoming her plans)

:picard: <— officially the first time i have ever used this smiley.

Oh damn. Congradulations. And damn, that’s a good looking ring (and girl.) Good taste!

WERD! (translation: thanks)

Congratulation, Josh!!!

what’s mine is hers and what’s hers is hers. isn’t that the way it goes? :violin2:

yea and she gets everything she wants

Congrats. As for the wedding planning, just show up in the right tux and emphatically agree when she asks if you like what she likes. No more, no less.

that’s pretty much spot on

Congrats man, was waiting to meet you at Swerve today but it was getting late… had to jet.

Do any of the recently married have any reception tips? Things that worked out awesome or things to avoid? Looking for some ideas from experienced veterens.

Howie…since you’ve been to 4,092,394 weddings in the past 2 years… anything to input towards reception ideas? Besides open bar.

as an update. The plan for “Simple” has remained, while everything else has changed.

The original plan was to fly the family down to the Cayman Islands, rent a house and yacht for the week. As it turns out, a slue of excuses by family has ditched this effort (i.e “I don’t like the hot weather”,“I hate flying” and “I don’t have a passport”, etc.)

Wedding in our hometown is on May 23rd (as planned) > Immediate family + closest friend from each half. 15 years to the date of our first kiss.

Reception/Cocktail party for adults only will be held at a mansion here in WNY on the 24th, Sunday evening (Memorial day weekend, nobody works monday)

Trying to arrange an Airforce Fly-over and fire works for shits-n-giggles. We’ll see.

I am currently desigining our cake… but the wife won’t let me DIY it.

lollll…

i wanna see the DIY. tell ange i say its ok

Oh btw… I’ll be flying NYSpeed’s beloved photographer down to the carribean to take beachy sex pictures of us.
