Totally case depedant. IMO everyone here is just another WNY auto person (nothing good, nothing bad, just here sharing the hobby) until they prove otherwise. For me, in Chris’ case it was at Dunnvile when he beligerantly ignored the event rules then became aggresively defensive about it even though he was pretty clearly in the wrong. Add to that the other things he has done / said / posted about which have defined his charactor for me. At this point I couldn’t care much less about the kid or his activities, save for the point that I am tired of seeing him deride the best organized group on this site at every chance he gets. Again, with a small community like this, things you say on the internet very clearly affect IRL. See Muscle5Oh video. Hope that answers your concerns.

dude, when josh told me to back off justin(in the neon) i did.
i might have said that i was confident in his driving and my own and that we were both comfortable out there together, which justin was there when we had this convo. i then followed josh’s request and did not tail anyone after that.
only AFTER i blew my motor and the shitstorm that followed ensued on here with mike and his penis pecking buddies, did i get banned. Had i “beligerently” ignored his request at the track and continued to tail people like he requested i not do, i would have been done right there and sent home packing.
but thats not the case.

If you have reason to dislike someone you have a reason. What im talking about is the general tolerance for disliking someone and how short that is for most everyone on here.

You did blatantly ignore requests, which is why you were black flagged at least 2 times that I saw. Stating that you were “fine” and your driving was “within check”. Which clearly, by your response stating you’d never driven that hard, it was not.

Believe it or not I for the most part agree… however this community has always been good at some degree of self moderation. Hazing / bashing is prohibited in the Newbie Section, but the rest of the forum is freedom of action - the question there is: how much do you want us CENSORING you?

in Florida, i raced in 4 races(1 time attack, and 3 HPDEs, on a REAL road course), door to door, with all FIAA or SCCA licensed drivers. NOT ONCE did they say i was immature, or out of control, or that they worried having me on the track. and that is saying A LOT considering i was the only one WITHOUT a license on track. i even came in after 4 laps, because(probably due to my lack of self control) i knew my brakes werent going to make it much longer(stock pads,rotors,lines,fluid on msp3 dont last very long).
ON TOP OF THAT I WON THE TIME ATTACK IN THE ONLY FWD THERE. but yet i still suck? you must be right:shrug:

HPDE is NOT a race. If you treat it like one, you should be asked to leave.
My buddy ran his MSP3 around Watkins Glen for 2 straight days without a lick of brake fade, totally stock. It’s your over agressive driving that would do it.

Well, I guess the forums direction, much like a government comes down to the ruling bodies discretion.
If this is just a place of free speech, every man for himself, and a place to pass time, then obviously we should just continue on the path we have always been on.
I guess the way I have always looked at it, is that I would love a place that facilitated growth (and by growth I mean size of the community, the users knowledge, the users diversity, the users appreciation, etc) of this regions general love for autos.
I know the solution to the above question is probably comparable in difficulty to finding wold peace, but if everyone took that into consideration, I think this would be that much of a better place to be.
The problem is, nyspeed is a friends forum and all of you OG’s are comfortable with who you have and what you do. There is no incentive to invite new people around and keep them here, but what about when you are all 30 or 35, have families and begin to ditch cars (or your minds consuumption of them) Who wil be left? Well, youll be gone then so obviously you dont care, but I would love to be the 28 year old helping out the 18 year olds who want to “kit their honduh,” rather than telling them “your a fucking idiot diaf.”
