I’m swapping a bad motor for a good motor on a 98 Mitsubishi Galant and am having trouble getting the torque converter back onto the transmission. seems like the 1st set of splines go on fine, but the 2nd set just aren’t lineing up and it won’t go on the rest of the way. i tried turning the TC, still won’t go. do i need to line the splines up a certain way? any help appreciated.
update… i can’t tell for sure, but i think the splines are going on, but the converter is keyed and that is what isn’t aligning. it just won’t go on that last half inch, no matter what i do.
wound up taking it to cottman, the had a bitch of a time getting it on, but its on… must have had a burr on one of the splines.
oh man. yer nuts cottman
cottman on babcock blvd… my boss said they’re actually pretty good. on another note, got the motor/trans back in the car and started bolting accessories back on.
