Torque wrench calibration

Ok, before you go and advice/preach to me about: buying brand name,
buy new, buy quality, etc., just know that I won this torque wrench on
eBay for $35CDN shipped, so it’s not a big loss to me. And that I didn’t
intend to win, just put in a bid and figured others would bid on it and
raise the price, but it never did. Oh well…

Ok, it’s a 1/2" Torque wrench (ITC Model 18-04350 with case).
Here’s a pic:

I e-mailed the seller about whether this tq is calibrated and whatnot so
I’m waiting for his reply.

In the meantime, is there a way to see or test if this tool is calibrated?

Oh, and I’m trying to spend very little on tools like this. Infact I bought
all my mechanics tools from eBay, and saved a bundle while I’m at it.
All craftsman tools…

at princess auto i got a similar TQ wrench but 3/4" for 18.00 can.
and they had a 1/2 " for 32.00.

i always always goto princess auto first

I guess it helps that i get an employee discount at Princess Auto. Next summer, ill clean out the garage and setup a nice tool set. Or i might buy an engine hoist and use my old tools.

Right…so can we stay on topic? Any word on how to check this wrench
to see if its calibrated? Besides comparing it to an existing wrench (which
I don’t really have access to at the moment).

Well i have 4 TQ wrenches so i guess we could TQ my wheels to 90lbs and then see if urs clicks at 90.

Hrm, yea, will have to try that sometimes. How about we bring em to
the Go-Kart meet (assuming the meet goes through and we get more
people involved - and if I go as well).

Any other way?
