That was Firestone’s fault, not a design flaw of Ford’s.
It’s Fords fault for using them.
But if you went to Firestone and had those tires mounted on a Chevy would it be Chevy’s fault?
Ford bought them as a customer of Firestone’s and put them on. No way did Ford know they were junk tires.
BTW Ive got Firestones on my Ford now.
And when you have someone as a customer to your vehicles your selling you should be testing the quality of the product being put on the vehicle, especially something as important as tires.
Part of the reason for that tire problem with ford was also because ford decreased air pressure to incrase ride comfort. Not just the tire company.
I said eventually didn’t I? Like, when the car stops, cuz you wouldn’t want it rolling or whatever or if you have to stop sooner than when the car just stops itself… say to avoid a cliff or a bridge. lol
hehe… I find this amusing.
Shhhh… I dunno and you know what they say!!! Ignorance is bliss! lol
i worked for ford at the time of the recall , during testing for the new body and drive systems the tires worked fine but at production time ford dropped air pressure to 32 psi for ride comfort when the tire required 40 p.s.i for it to be stable therfore underinflating the tire then put multiple people in the car or a big load and the tire overheated then shed the tread off of it .hardly firestones fault thats why ford had to deal with the recall blow , like the yota recall on the frames they are only responsible for so much of it and the frame manu took the hit for the frame
Gotcha, so either way it definitely was Ford at fault.
yes it was .thats why firestone didnt have to supply new tires for it
Yea, Toyota’s are the worst cars ever made.
lol Kramer.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. That’s f’in HILARIOUS.
You can’t be serious. :facepalm
+1. Stupid cars.
they found the problem should be ok soon
maybe they are both made by toyota
See what happens when you make a Nascar team? Your quality slips!
:lol
I love how media is blowing this way out of proportion and in reality are the only thing hurting Toyota right now.
Yes it’s a defect, yes it’s been recalled, yes shit happens, Toyota shouldn’t even be blamed for the deaths of the people, unless EVERY time it failed it caused an accident.
It’s like saying that you just bought a brand new Honda Civic and the driver side door tends to randomly fall of on highway speeds. But instead of stopping, you panic, unbuckle and jump out of the car while moving and then blame Honda for your injuries. :ponder
the one they are crtisizing most is the cop that died with his family ,understandably it sucks as a loss but christ put it in neutral hammer the brakes .the biggest problem with all car manu,s is all the safety bullshit thats in the cars and people forgot how to drive and what to do when shit goes wrong
That’s what’s weird… People in general don’t know how to react in certain situations. They could’ve been too close to something to make the brakes useless. Here’s how the average person will think:
Conflict
Realization of conflict (couple seconds)
Panic (several seconds)
React (who knows)
Although we all may know what to do in a certain situation, add in the fear of your life and the above chain of events, and things may not go as easy as most would think.
