transfering data from laptop to PS3

So i have to send my laptop out to dell to get the motherboard replaced. I would like to save my music, movies, and programs somehow.

I was wondering if there is a way to move files and programs from my laptop to my PS3 that doesn’t involve a flashdrive.

I know a external HD would be the best option but i just can’t afford one right now. so any help or ideas would be much welcomed.

Tell Dell that you won’t be sending your HD.

  • Whenever my company ships stuff to HP that is under warranty and doesn’t involve the HD, we never ship it.

I use this setup all the time to try and salvage data.

I agree, just remove the hard drive and send the computer back without one.

There is no easy way to. You could install another OS on your PS3 which would involve reformatting your drive, installing it, knowing how to mount drives in Windows and Linux, etc.

How much data do you need to backup? I can create you an account on my server to back it up to if you have a decent internet connection.

I asked the customer service rep when i called if i they need they HD, he said they do. He said that they need to make sure that everything will be in working condition. I told him that once i get it back that i can reinstall the HD and make sure that the OS is working properly and he just said we need HD to service your laptop.

Tell them the HD passed the BIOS test and you installed the same HD in a friends NB that happens to be the same NB and there were no issues.

:loopie:

You didn’t get the at home service? weak

Thanks for the option i might have to take you up on it.

It would be so much easier if i actually got to speak to someone from this country that can fully understand english. lol

I didn’t buy the computer it was a gift

no im saying on the service call, i’d ask for the at home service. sending it in is for suckers

And I’ve had great luck with the online chat with Dell. I don’t actually need any troubleshooting help so I tell them what part is bad and they send out a replacement and a service guy to my place two days later  Also they can communicate much better in written form.

Well he did mention something bout that but he said that it would cost me 40 bucks. and right $40 vs $0, $0 wins.
