Transmisison rebuild?

anybody ever get there tranny rebuild im looking to have the Honda Oddysey tranny rebuilt.

just wondering what are some places you guys have dealt with and some ballpark prices.
just so i know what im getting into.

That particular trans is a beast to rebuild from what I’ve heard, expect over $2k

mine was 1200 for a KA

my fathers 98 accord needed a trans rebuild around 450K,

IIRC it only cost him an extra $1000 to change the complete motor/tranny(jdm) vs the mr transmission rebuild

over $2k and $1200? are you talking about just a normal rebuild, bearings and seals? I just rebuilt mine yesterday actually, going to put the top case now then it’s ready to go back in the car.

idk anything about the odyssey but for my SR tranny, i replaced every bearing and seal and it cost me a total of $52.99 for 7 bearings and 2 seals. actually there was $37 shipping on the rebuild kit so say $90. but before I pulled the transmission I couldn’t find a rebuild kit so I just ordered the main bearing from the nissan, just for the main bearing nissan charged me $140. after I pulled the transmission i noticed some of the other bearings are starting to get bad, I didn’t want to put it all back together like that, i looked a little harder and found the kit for $52

here is the link if anyone is looking, the kit # is FS5W71C

ok In that ccase i am not going to get a 2nd gen Odyssey
the 1st gen doesnt have a tranny problem apparently just the torque converters and TCU’s are prone to problem. but on the + side its a 4 Cylinder and isnt as massive as a full sized van.
