Completed my manual conversion , finally . I am having some difficulty hooking up the reverse lights , I am still browsing through the service manual to find the plugs but that’s minor for now .
My shifter vibrate a lot , that is my first manual s13 and was wondering if that was normal . Holding the shifter while driving is very unpleasant . Another problem that I am having is that , when starting the morning , the transmission is a little hard to put through gears almost as if it was grinding a bit , That feeling goes away after 5 to 10 min of driving . What could that be?

reverse lights, nicoclub.com ->convertible S13 ->5spd swap sticky I believe.
shaking I don’t know, probably not good
trouble finding gears? hmm, some times I have to double clutch (diesel truck style) to get it into 1st/reverse
RWD shifters shake a bit because they are directly conected to the tranny, unlike FWD trannies which are usually conected by cables. the cables absorb the vibrations.
As for the grinding and grumpy-when-cold shifting: Welcome to slightly worn S13 trannies! Combine cold thick fluid with worn syncros and you get slow shifting until the car warms up a little bit.
It’s all good than , can’t really complain because I got a killer deal on that tranny. I just got to double clutch till warm and start ripping the gears after , Will adding the lucas tranny fluid have any effect ? I was also told to upgrade to red line .
on a related note.
what can be done about sloppy shifters ? I like my shifting to be toight, like a toiger. I want to feel a solid click click as I move from one gear to another, what can be done to get rid of teh fluh feeling on a sloppy shifter and tighten it up?
get a short shifter and make sure that little plastic bushing that goes on the end of the shifter isn’t worn out.
And get some fresh Redline in there. It really does help.

Is that for my problem or for scribbles ?
BTW : thanx a lot S13GG , that helps a lot more that the service manual
