Having Porsche issues yet again. Now it’s studdering and bucking throughout the entire RPM range. Instead of bringing it to Langan, I’m bringing it to EPL since I’m getting new injectors put in there anyways and they’ll do diagnosis work. I have no way of getting the car there safely. Does anyone have a truck and trailer I could use, with you preferrably driving it. I will pay for all gas and tolls, and pay you as well (which will be discussed privately). I need to do it between Sunday and Wednesday, so please let me know.
EPL is about a 2.5-3hr drive at normal driving speeds.
The Ruf is fucking pissing me off. The fuel pump went on it last week, got it back yesterday. It drove perfectly fine, then after putting 50-60mi on it, I was at Hatfields last night and when I left it wouldn’t start at first. It took about 3-4 turns of the key then it finally started. On the way home, as I was in 3rd-5th gear, at around 4500rpm, it would buck and studder. Today it was the same way until I was on my way to meet up with Jim P, then it would do it at the lower RPM’s as well. I’m fucking PISSED. And I’m about to buy a new car soon.
Just rent an auto transport from u-haul and we can take it down there with my truck. I have a 2005 GMC 3500HD 4-door dually. The trailer is only like 65 bucks to rent.
Question, I’ve been where you are no doubt, but havn’t you had issues since you bought it? I would be contacting whoever I bought it from with these issues (if it was a dealer). It’s some serious BS if you ask me. Nothing worse than paying a lot for a car, and it to have constant issues. I’d be furious too.
I’m just guessing here, but this really sounds like ECU issues.
Please explain how this could be an ECU issue? Only issue he had when he bought it was a bad maf (diagnosed and repaired @ EPL). Car was tuned by Tony @ EPL and had been running like a champ. Fuel pump then kicked the bucket. Car ran fine once new fuel pump was installed. Now something else is wrong. ECU doesn’t fit in ANYWHERE here. Plugs? Coil Packs? Could be serveral things, none of which are the ECU. Tony would have really had to eff up the tune for the car to do this…and since EPL is the most renound Bosch Motronic tuning company in North America…I don’t see that happening.
You have to really try to make a car run like that when you’re tuning it. You have to completely fubar the maf tables or dump a ton of fuel or something equally irresponsible. Not saying just Tony (granted he’s brilliant…you should see the robot he built to ‘fix’ bricked Bosch Motronic systems) but in general for something like this to be ECU related you hae to have a real knuckhead at the healm.
