Unnecessary for a chick pulling a horse trailer once a month. Not worth having to DD a manual in NC traffic, depending on the area.

I trailer my boat with a 5 speed.
I’m not saying I would recommend it, but it’s not a big deal. A little never racking for me with the heavy boat on the ramp though.
