Went out for a domestic beer....

And bought a domestic car instead. Engine: Made in USA, Transmission: Made in USA, Car Assembly Plant location: Alabama. '12 Ridgeline RTS from Don Davis. Been working out with a used car salesman from there the past 2 years almost made me a smoking deal to trade in my '05 Element EX (assembled entirely in Ohio BTW) to pick this up.

love these

“the send the profits right to japan, you fucking terrorist”

lol, VTAAACKK TRUUCK!

Congrats! Nice to see a mechanic buys a vehicle that doesn’t need his skills. LOL

X…

I really like these trucks, however the tow capacity is somewhat low for a truck. Looks nice though

I would love a ridgeline but theres a few things I cant get past:
It being built on the odyssey frame
Low towing capability
Does not have a mid gate like the avalanche (due to frame)
Small bed length
but
I do like how the rear seats fold up
Tail gate swings 2 different directions
“cooler” in the bed
It wont brake on you
etc

All in all good deal

I would not buy any vehicle that wouldn’t brake on me. It must break to be like that.

I thought of buying a truck just like that, even silver. I need a pick up truck but I don’t want to drive a pick up truck. Let me know when you want to sell it. lol

won’t get it.

I don’t need a TRUCK truck… I needed a decent commuter vehicle for my new job(~8mi) and a place for ghey homeowner level douche baggery. Power seats, 6 disc, dual zone climate control, etc. Far from a real actual comercial vehicle. Bike rack in the hitch, tonneau cover to seal the fate of ANY actual practical use for the bed. Towing? Motorcycle in a 4x8 trailer maybe… at best.

Look what all those bailout dollars did for Detroit! All those Canadians & Mexicans making Becks assembling them on top of it.

True, im kinda in the same boat…but I know id push its limits and probably break or twist something.
Whats the MPGs like
18s?

looks nice, i like the domestic joke haha. the diehard domestic guys just dont get it…

however i do cringe when people call these trucks. but i feel the same way when people call suv’s trucks too.

Congrats, it should work well for you. I looked at these before I bought my Murano. Car based > truck based for light duty. I liked the idea of having a pickup bed again but the wife liked the Murano more and it was her DD.

Murano’s are super comfortable cars. I’ve used the shit out of the “bed” since I acquired it last friday, been hauling all sorts of stuff, picnic table, ton of plants from my mom’s place in the southtowns, some concrete edgers we were getting rid of, good fun. It’s far from a real truck, but it works out well for the 97% of the time I don’t need a truck. As far as the domestic thing, my inlaws are all Ford stamping plant blood… through and through. They picked on me for driving “Brand X”. “Hey, by the way, that 3 your vin # starts with? Your car was made in Mexico, my Honda was made in Ohio. Thank your UAW for that.” Got a ton of flack for that, then next holiday the entire family was licking their wounds as all of their entire retirement accounts were all Ford stock and they all lost everything… Never heard another word.

my dad has one and its really nice. Id buy one too but the small bed killed it for me and the back seats suck. When they make one with a realistic sized bed ill buy it. The towing capacity is like 5000lb which is decent enough to pull a car or smaller boat around without it feeling weaksauce. My dads averaged 15-16mpg highway going up and down hills pulling 2500lb ish at like 65-70mph.

My dad just bought one of these. After my mom passed, he traded in her crv on it. To say he loves it would be a serious understatement

I’m not sitting in the back seat, my bicycle goes there if it’s not on the rack and it’ll fit a 4x8 sheet of XXX in it with the gate down, that’s enough for me. I prefer the smaller bed vs. a huge one that I’ll never use more than once a year and making it a complete abomination to drive like FGGTs with extended cab long bed dualys trying to get the closest spot at wegmans like a bau5 holding up traffic.

is the bed 4’ wide?
the other thing is (for me) i think the odyssey would better. about the same price, holds more people, fit more stuff (as long as its not tall)
but
Id be driving a van =(
