 Ken Ton Physical therapy

some of you may be familiar with my ongoing back saga. Been injured for 2 months. Noone would take me as my PCP closed her practice and i had to wait 3 months for the new PCP to see me.

She finally saw me last monday and sent me to Michael Calabrese’s office for physical therapy. From what I know of him he’s a great guy, he’s rebuilding the parish commons (although the parish commons sign on it is soooo ugly) etc. But his staff at PT are quite the opposite. It was dirty in there (spread of disease at PT is very common). The same pillows have been on I’m sure hundreds of faces. The guy who was treating me told me “well, you can shower and get dressed every day. Most of the people I see are worse off than you,” looking around it was mostly little old ladies who probably fell. “To be honest, there’s probably nothing I can do for you. But make appointments for 3x a week from now on.” literally, that was what he said. He gave me one exercise (which I later found out is way too intensive for the stage of recovery I’m in), and put some ice on it and told me to go home. I am NEVER going back there again.

When I pulled my groin last year my PCP at the time, Linda Benjamin, sent me to Ken Ton, so I figured I’d go back. Super easy to make an appointment. I went there today, thank god. the dr i saw took a much more thorough examination, explained the incriments of what we need to do, gave me 3 stretches to do 2x a day and an ice/heat regimen, with sheets illustrating the stretches. the place was clean, it was warmer, (everything is stiffer when colder) they change the pillowcases for every person, there was a sign on the wall telling people to cancel their appointment if they’re sniffly, runny nose, sore throat, etc.

very professional, and I will be there 2x a week for at least the next month.
