Umm ss auto crap

Ask jamie (phat240) how good their manifolds are. PM him for details

Why would Jamie know? Cause his old manifold is not ss autochrome. SS’s are mandrel bent, one piece runners, where his was welded together bends.

I have the new edition of the ex. manifold, and it works just fine for me. Not a problem so far, and my turbo is far heavier than the stock one.

I’ve heard alot of problems with the SS autochrome T3 manifolds on other boards but I haven;t had a problem with the stock replacement manifold yet and Ive been running it for a year.

Like anything else, you get what you pay for. I think thier manifolds are worth the money.

Umm how many of you have actually known someone with a ss autochrome piece? none, thoughts so. From what I know their shit is good to go, not the turbos but the manifolds, exhausts, and downpipes are fine. I just wouldn’t trust mechanical shit from them. other companies buy their shit and mark it up too. just to let you guys know. far better than obx and the other shit you find on ebay.

Looks like you can’t read. I’ll help you out. Two of the above posters, have thier manifolds and say they are fine.

thanks for the replies…

I wouldnt trust them I know a guy that has one and his waist gate has broken off a couple of times.

There are two different kinds of the SSAC stuff. The old versions and the new versions. Yes, I have heard too that the new versions have had problem cracking and what not. But the new versions, I haven’t heard much on.

I have a huge ass bracket supporting the runners under the weight of the turbo, and it has been all good. Just make sure there is a bracket to support weight.

Never heard of ss auto chrome, but everyone on Freshalloy.com is always reffering to another company named SS auto crap…Maybe they are related?

Anyways i heard that alot of people whom get Autochrome manifolds that dont want to have any problems with usually get the whole thing rewelded and add support brackets like Aaron mentioned.

just to get things clear I was talking to the ppl that haven’t had or known anyone personally that has had autochrome stuff. and about the wastegate, like I said anything mechanical stay away from them. pipes and manis are fine usually, and yes their old stuff was prone to cracking but that was years ago back in like 2001. their new stuff is really good, I know a couple of ppl with their stuff.

here are some examples of thier QUALITY

But like it was said above their manifolds are good

Happy reading.

damn, those don’t look good at all…

the last forum post if you read the more on the second page, the guy wasn’t using his downpipe hangar, and manifold bracket. all that weight will definitely crack a manifold, and he also says he didn’t buy the manifold from ssautochrome. NEVER BUY A TURBO FROM AN UNKNOWN COMPANY. manifold’s can be welded by anyone, the right metals and tubing, and any welding shop can weld that shit.

agreed. i have their downpipe and the quality looks great. no one i’ve heard of has complained about their DPs. as well, on the NICO boards people are using their tubular manifolds without much problems as long as they use the proper support brackets.

i remember a post saying if your don’t wanna worry about cracking a tube mani, then buy a cast one. a tube one will never last as long.
