Turbo S2000 rebuild

I plan on bringing him the bumper, front lip and fenders to paint because the fenders are scratched to shit. After that i need to get ahold of dent wizard to get rid of all the small dents.
Looking at ordering some Mahle pistons 9.5:1 CR and some Brian Crower rods today!

neat project. what did the machine shop say about the crank? that bearing is pretty fubared, mustve been knocking for a long time. ive had a spun bearing on a motor before and it was 7 thou out, bearing didnt even look nearly that bad. however i did have to replace the rod and crank.

Technically its a fiber reinforced metal liner. Using a polymer matrix would probably be silly.

So I am driving out to Albany this weekend to meet a guy from New Jersey thats selling me his never used, built short block. It includes CP pistons 8.8:1 compression, Brian Crower billet rods, and Goldzilla series sleeves. The short block was built by Golden Eagle Manufacturing and was also balanced and blueprinted at the time. This set-up is said by them to be rated for up to 60psi, 1000hp and 10,000rpm! Now its time to save for a new rear end.

Good thing theres plenty of Nissans with R200s to use :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks like a sweet project, I like S2000s…one with boost will be even cooler.

Yep thats the rear end i need! the mounting kit is around $3000 so i need to learn how to do some fab work lol.

I’d offer you a R200 but unfortunately all of mine are the long nose R200s from the pre-'90 Z-cars. You most likely need a short nose R200 from a NA Z32 or a S13/S14…

I will do some research again but im fairly certain it is the short nose version that I need. I am really blown away at the price on the mounting hardware for those rearends…yes i understand someone had to do the research and fab and test it but $3000 to me is crazy!

My lip is shot too lol. Group buy on silverstone oem lips? Lol

I bought mine off of ebay for $47 shipped lol. If you look on S2ki.com there is a ebay store they recommend and i guess the fitment is top notch. I will let you know how it fits.

Leaving today to pick up the built short block! just need my head gasket to come in and get a bung welded to my downpipe for my LC-1

I want a ride in this pig when it’s done Brad. If you need/want help wrenching I’m down to help.

Sounds good Ryan! I will def. need some help with the re-install, under the hood was just an abortion of vacuum lines ect. also the same inside the car. I lost your number pm it to me please!

Nice project!

Wow. Cool project, I am dying to see how it turns out!

Picked up my short block today. Have to pick up my head tomorrow from the machine shop then it’s time to throw it together! The break in period for the short block is going to suck big.

Started putting the motor back together last night. I was to excited to take pictures of most of it but Angryhero took a bunch so hopefully he posts them.

New clutch came in though!

Installed. Honda uses about 12-14 bolts to attach the clutch to the flywheel which IMO is freaking nuts and a pain.

Hopefully tonight the short block will be completely installed on the car and the head will be put back together. More pictures to come!

Soooo. This thing will be pretty tame…

Yea im hoping its super slow and boring :-). Its going to suck to not be able to do heaters though.

Good choice on clutch brand  Glad to see this thing coming along Brad. Let me know if you need a hand wrenching.
