Turning Brake rotors

Is there anyone local other than NAPA who can turn rotors? Looking to do fronts and rears on my '05 STi.

It’s been a while since I’ve done it, but Pep Boys used to be the cheapest. They were slow as hell but no big deal if you had time to drop them off and come back later.

If there are any local cole mufflers they do it cheap

OEM Brembo Rotors for the STI tend to chatter on the lathe.

standard is 30 mm (1.18 inch), service limit is 28 mm (1.10 inch) on the fronts, rear is 20 mm (0.79 inch), service limit is 18 mm (0.71 inch). get a mic on them before you even waste your time dragging them to get turned. .008"/2mm isn’t exactly a whole lot of life, and to expect to turn off the buffalo rust ridge is asking a lot out not much to begin with.

all i have to say is that if your driving this car hard, which i see its an sti, your rotors will warp a lot quicker, being that there is far less metal for your brakes to dissipate heat

I’ve heard :grouphug:

I’m looking to make these my backup/winter set.

Maybe I’ll give Pep Boys a try.
