TV flickers green every so often

I just put in a HDMI switching receiver (Yamaha RX-V371) and I seem to have introduced a issue when using HDMI with my Fios receiver where the TV will flicker green while watching. Research leads me to believe this is a handshaking issue. I have re-seated the cables, I am going to try replacing it but I doubt it is the cable.

I have not noticed any issues yet with my HTPC or Xbox, I am going to do a bit more watching/observing tonight and see if this holds true for the HTPC/Xbox. My question for my fellow nerds is there anything I might not be thinking of here or am I just going to have to switch to component video for the Fios receiver.

Side note, google searches lead me to believe Verizon has long had issues with hdmi handshaking in there IMG code.

I was recently at a conference about HDMI… here i thought it was a simple cable. NOPE.

I’d try a new cable. I have a vague recollection of some guys who have been doing home theater installs for years talking about yamaha hdmi issues and green screens…

I get a green screen once in a while with a new element TV.
But, I had to screw with the HDMI port on the back of the Fios box. It was not working at all for a long time.
I figure that I broke it when constantly going from ps3 to TV. (yes, I only had one HDMI port)

The connection is still shitty. If the green screen starts flashing, I just mess with my cable and it goes away.
This only happens once every week or two depending on if the kids have been in the general area.

I haven’t read about Yamaha issues but who knows could be, I still think it is more of a VZ issue. I bought into the simple cable stuff too and yea of course I would get a issue.

I might just replace the 3 shorter cables I have with newer ones, I do have a spare one I am going to try tonight.
