im not possitive but i would bet the little badge on the back that says TURBO
that would mean he was behind the porsche… and seldom do the 996’s have turbo badges.

the reason they are popular is because they have greater than or equal to Ferrari performace for < $150k.
Also FYI, with modern, 993+ Porsches, the S badge usually means that the porsche is NA with turbo body kit/wheels/brakes etc. Like the Boxter S (NA with turbo wheels, brakes, etc) and the Carrera 4s (AWD non turbo, looks just like a GT3 though.) The gt3’s are 996 twin turbo and do not say turbo either. just “GT3”.
