Spent a few hours on my car yesturday which resulted in 441rwhp and 365tq at 19-20psi on pump gas.
Last year the same car made 390rwhp and 331tq with a GT2871R .86 on an externally gated FR bottom mount at the same boost pressure.
Now - the numbers are higher but this is a completely different car… This is a fun fun setup.
Pretty basic build otherwise: Stock block, Apexi HG, ARP Studs, HKS 264’s (1’s) in and out. Greddy Intake Mani, 850 CC’s, Full Race Twin Scroll with GT3076R, tuned with AEM EMS
(Slight boost spike - I wanted boost to hit as hard as possible so this is by design)
What exactly is causing the desired hard hitting boost/boost spike?

I have the boost controlled with the AEM. I basically set a boost target with too much duty cycle to ensure the gate stays closed as long as possible. I then allow the boost correction table to quickly take over once the desired boost level is met.
Also, although it appears dramatic, that spike is only 1/2psi of boost
