I’ve been looking into the benefits and drawbacks of UD Pulleys. But I’m still not sure as to wether it’s a risk worth taking on a daily driven car.
Also having continous electrical problems, which is starting to look like a grounding issue, i’m not sure wether it’s a good idea to pull away power from the alternator.
I’m still doing research on this option, but was wondering if anyone has any advice or experience with pullyes.
I’m looking at the UnOrthodox racinc UDP, if anyone has experience with them please tell us about it.
i have no first hand experience with them but i have done lots of research. generally, you will be ok to use them on a vehicle that has stock audio/electronics. As soon as you get a system or hook up other electronics you will have problems
^^^ see that’s what I undestood as well. I have a system, fogs and a few other gadgets going in soon, and i’m on my 4th ALT in 2 years… so I don’t know if it’s worth the risk.
Your not going to notice any gaines in hp from an UD pulley. Yes there is less mass to spin. Alot of people believe that these UD pulley made there engine more free reving. Yeah it prob did, but not to any extent that they would notice. They spent 200 - 300 bucks, so they better believe it did.
Also, I have read numerous times that UD pulley’s aren’t good for engine balancing. It serves a purpose of working with the engine balancer/harmonic (I forget the name). I’m not totally sure about that subject, but it makes sense.
I’m saying bang for the buck, your better taking an extra 100 bucks and getting an SAFC II. You’ll make noticable gains there.
You take a stop watch and time 2nd or 3rd gear pulls before and after, and tell me if your time changed at all. I doubt it will.
I’m sick of reading about all these modifications that make a huge difference. I want proff, and not the companies dyno sheet.
thx andrew thats what i wanted lol cause im new to these and was looking at buying one or got an offer for a trade . so im gonna do a little mroe research. Also would you happen to know what the sensor is that goes into the stock intake box with wires comming out then it connect to another harness?

Take a bunch of wires connect them to the (-) terminal of your battery
and then connect the wires to random spots on your car. eg. Strut Tower
Bolt, Engine Block, Headunint Mounting Bracket, Tailight Metal Cover etc.
