Edited for clarity
Well another year has come and gone. I thought this was the best shootout ever as far as turnout, no cars breaking, good times, records set etc.
Then I get a call this morning from the racetrack. I have to meet with the Chief of Police of Norwalk and the owner of Norwalk Raceway Park on Monday morning next week.
There were 48 arrests associated with the shootout this year. That is absolutely a complete disgrace to myself, my shop, Norwalk Raceway park and the majority of the people that come here for this event.
Public intoxication, drunk and disorderly, fireworks being set off, open containers, vandalizing, trespassing etc. These are some of the things that I have been told about so far.
Is there a reason this particular group of people can’t act like they have some sense? I don’t need you here or associated with myself or Norwalk Raceway. It is absolutely rediculous.
This is bad, real bad. No matter how many times I warn people and post it this shit continues to happen.
I can’t be held responsible for you ignorant bastards that come here and can’t behave. You aren’t my children luckily because I’d kick your ass. Going into talk with the police and trying to make excuses for you being ignorant isn’t something I am too happy about. Thank you for the headache.
For those of you that didn’t cause problems, obviously this isn’t directed at you.
in situtions like this … shit falls to the TOP, so as the organizer, he has to appologize for the bullshit people pulled at his event. and while i doubt he will be hald legaly responsible for shit that happened, it will make it that much harder to organize the event next year
look what happened w/ modiied madness at carlisle … it got to the point that they got kicked out of carlisle !
they should do this event at a place like NYIRP because its in the middle of nowhere all the people have to scatter for hotels and stuff and it lessens all the BS
That does suck, but I can’t blame the police for wanting to discuss it with him… unfotunately, if you are the host of an event you are expected to keep the whole thing under control. It’s not fair, but it’s life
This is one thing I dislike about owning an “import”.
When I was active with the Porsche Club there were no worries.
When people say, “Oh you have a fast and Furious car?” I get really frustrated!!!
I feel too old for this shit and David is older than I.
It is too bad for him because he makes a living from these retards so he has to becareful what he says.
roffle, i was reading a post on dsm tuners, some local tow truck guy saw a dsmtuners sticker, and joined up. he was telling people about how much buisness they get for about a week. ahahaahahahahahaha. fucking DSM’s…
open containers…over rated
drunk and disorderlly…just having a good time
the only thing i disagree with happening is the vandalizm and distructive issues
Yeah I am one of the people that got an open container ticket. I walked across a parking lot with an empty can of beer. The cops were being absolute dickheads. At least to me anyway. I didn’t do anything wrong. Unless they want me to litter and just chuck the can. There were no garbage cans. I understand that they really didn’t want the drinking in the motel parking lots, but with that many poeple, nice warm summer weather and no work for anyone in the morning its bound to happen. I am of legal age, I wasn’t being loud or reving my motor, or destroying anything. I’m sure that there were assholes that did all this stuff, it happens every year.
Bottom line is, the city of Norwalk wants the money that is brought in with the show/race but they don’t want to put up with any of the possible problems that can go with a gathering of that size. I think Buschur should move it to another track. I realize its his hometrack but the people and city officials of Norwalk bitch about it every year. Time for a change of scenery. I’m camping at the racetrack next year. (If there is one)
