underground racing's TT gallardo [DESTROYED] + ANOTHER CRASH!

Holy shit. How was he NOT hurt?!

I guess that cage wasn’t so bad after all.

how fast did it go?

Wonder how many of his buddies ripped on him for messing up the interior with that cage?

He lived, walked away with VERY minor injuries (once they cut the car open so he could get out). The safety equipment is pretty amazing. Car went 230+ on its first pass, car had hit 250+MPH at the FL Mile earlier this year.

There were relatively strong crosswinds.

I love all the retards saying that the guy was driving beyond his limits as if slowing a car down from over 200MPH with a chute and crosswinds is something that is easy.

His car went through traps at 235mph, pulled chute which unsettled the car. The car went into a slide to the right, and then hit a small wall/embankment directly off edge of runway. Our MoTeC GPS data shows 103mph at …point of impact. This launched the car into a violent series of tumbles/barrel rolls. Other than his foot getting stuck, he literally walked away, but just got really beat up. The safety gear installed by Underground Racing worked wonderfully, and the driver compartment stayed intact. The rest of the car is destroyed.

There’s a half mile of run down room, but most cars going past 220MPH use a chute.

you couldn’t pay me to drive something that fast, way to many consequences.

Would depend on where for me.

Bonneville Salt Flat with nothing to hit and miles to slow down? Sure.

Airport runway where I need a parachute to stop in time and a giant berm not far to the right of the runway? No thanks.

Mix of 2 different cars in this thread… the first post and the video/car that was destroyed are not the same and the cage pic posted above belong to the first car which is still alive :X

I assume they would have done it the same way in Holt’s car tho. Sucks to see it happen, I would put some blame on the organizers for not shutting the event down while it was THAT windy, shit most drag strips will revet to 1/8 mile racing in windy conditions.

Kinda related, here’s another Gallardo from Underground. The burnout & engine noise are awesome;

The wind had nothing to do with it. Watch the videos of this guy driving the car from the previous event, he spins out EVERY RUN because he crosses the line and just stomps on the brakes. Combine that with a chute and you have a perfect recipe for the rear wheels lifting off the ground. Pains me to see someone blame driver error as “wind”

yea, this guy is retarded. You must break before using shoot, other wise it tosses the rear around like that and then u crash. happens in drag racing all the time.

That is ridiculous if that car only ran 10’s, lol. I run mid tens with 1/5th the power

yea, but your car isnt geared to go 250mph+ either.lol those longer gears realy kill ET in some situations.

It is 2 different cars. if you look closely the car in the first vid is a paddle shift super lagera that has full carbon fiber door panels and the car that crashed was an actual stick shift and the tops of the door panels are wrapped in suede. The guy in the first video is luckey he didnt do the same thing though with the way he was losing the car in the traps.

Wait, are you saying…gasp!…that Walter is wrong?!?

RWD?

If I can recall correctly… while crashing, that Lambo did a double kickflip, 360 flip late 900 Mctwist. Gnarly combo points

Apparently, lol. I don’t know much about their AWD systems and if you can change bias or not.

i bet the remains would make for a pretty nice conference table.

lamborghini makes a rwd model gallardo so its gotta be poss
