You never want to brake before shoot deploys. The braking force is primarily front wheel distributed so that takes load off the rear tires… the chute being deployed that isnt designed properly will upset the rear…exactly what happened in this situation, you can see the brakes on before chute is fully opened up.
A short length chute combined with the attachment point low on the car’s chassis will create an uplifting force on the rear… Drag chutes and land speed record type chutes are different animals YOu can get away with a shorter length chute rope (shroud line) on drag cars most of the time but true high speed land racing applications need a long chute shroud line and the attachment point in line with the center of the car’s chassis so it pulls straight back and NOT uplifting.
That lambo had a very short length chute. And no, they dont have much shutdown road. Brakes wont do it alone, they need a chute. Some of these guys shooting for 250mph+ dont think anyone will get much faster no matter how much power they have…just no room to stop

That happened in Atlanta yesterday right near my office. The guy has had the car for over a year, and also has a TT 1200+HP C6… its not like he hadn’t driven the car before, which would be much easier to assume from the outcome.

Wow. That’s the worst censoring I’ve ever seen on a video and not just because it covers the whole screen, but because you can see right through it at times and the faces often went outside the “box” lol.
It’s actually worse than that. All you have to do is click the youtube caption thing to turn captions off to completely remove their “censoring”. Epic use of technology fail.
The original video didn’t have anything… They tried to add it after getting the attention of some law enforcement on yellowbullet. Too late.
