- The mounting plane by itself is irrelevant since in shear you’re only worried about the relative angle between bolt shaft and applied load. If the angle is 0 you have pure tension / compression, otherwise you have some shear. If you were referring to the Autoselect bar and the ‘hinge’ bolts, they’re still in shear. I don’t see how you can’t notice that even being the ever so almighty Ahmed.
