Hey guys.
We built this for my car the other night, but now the car is pending sale… so maybe someone on here wants to gangster up.
One-off, never to be duplicated!
$150!!!
pm is key.

Gangster!
Do you think you should gusset those tubes off of the strut tower flanges to prevent them from flexing?
pretty welds
i would do rails of coke off that bar
thanks guys.
The next one we make will be a bit different design… because of the angle of the bent rail, access to the strut bolt would have been limited by a gusset. As it stands now though, its 1/8in plate for the tops, so there won’t be much if any flex.
Also forgot to mention… its for s13.
Comments aside…
You forgot to mention what it’s made of… Looks like stainless from the pics…
Mild steel.
LASERS WERE USED TO CUT THE HOLES.
REAL LIVE LASERS
Lol Nice work, not trying to start anything or do any thread pooping but your product looks identical to one another guy built years ago (2003). According to this guy, it worked great.
Ah… Tube or solid bar?
It looks like SS on the CrackBerry…
were they sharks with shooting lasers?
I want my sharks with frickin’ laser beams attached to their head.
Do it:
Its tube.
And you are right. You caught us.
I’ve been slowly working my way into the saturn tuning world, using their advanced technology to enhance the relatively new tuning platform; the s13.
Only using by duplicating their highly sophisticated designs, will 240’s ever have a chance of being competitive.
Its .120 wall tubing.
Ha ha ha that’s good, I would think this fact would outweigh the product being on a Saturn
"I don’t mind but I don’t own the design.
My mechanic is Bill Gendron. He builds SCCA Solo II Mod cars for a living and owns Small Fortune Racing. You would have to ask him but I don’t think he would mind."
the bar looks awesome but this thread is awesomer.
DURRTY!.
That is the nerdiest and most over thought out time wasted strut tower mounting base I’ve ever seen in my life
Hahaha. How did I not see that picture in my own thread!
Well it’s made by a mechanical engineer not me
Although this design (mine’s) is like the ‘union’ one is sufficient:
DC Sports makes something like this already so i got it… unlike the ebay and other generic stuff it doesnt have weak joints and flimsy metal mounts. It’s nice to see alternatives though. Over welding something can be just added weight as well.
That being said a cnc’d piece may be ‘over engineered’ and extreme but those that can afford it may go for it if they are seeking the best extract of their buck when dying to save even 1lbs. Obviously not for everybody. I just threw it in
Autoselect made something similar for r34 platform:
As featured on their car:
However the one I copy pasted will use shear bolts instead of hinge bolts like alot of crap out there. And it’ll be lighter.
Over engineering is what good engineers do best
cool.
thanks.
Dude, seriously, stop spewing your bullshit everywhere. You’re doing more harm to the community than good.
Shear bolts vs. hinge bolts? Man you’re such a joke. Go look up the meaning of shear. Your ‘hinge bolts’ are still bolts in shear.
