just because it’s a core 2 duo means nothing. Vista is a high demanding OS. 1 GB of ram for vista is nothing. 2 GB is decent and 3-4 will run it smoothly. You also need to look at the CPU cache, and RAM timings. Another important aspect of laptops is integration and expansion.
