So a few days ago I was waiting for a package at my place of employment. Delivery was scheduled for that day as far as the online tracking goes. I see my package was one of the first loaded so assumed it would have been the last delivered. Waited all day until just before 5pm when the package was labeled undeliverable.
Now I’ve been watching and waiting all day for big brown. I checked all of out security feeds for a half an hour before and after he said he was there. He never even drove by the building. After doing a few inquiries myself. UPS themselves has come forward to tell me that they’re having a lot of trouble with their drivers (i.e. not delivering, just walking up and putting a first attempt sticker on the door with any attempt, etc, etc).
The question really comes forward now. What should I really try and do? I normally wold let this go but, I hate being lied to. I filed a formal complaint with the local office and I get a call from this guys manager about some BS where he feels threatened by me. Yet another blatant lie. Other than obviously never using UPS unless I don’t have a choice what do I do now? Call corporate and complain? Try and get my shipping costs back for this delivery? What would you do?
Call corporate, get shipping costs back and go pick the package up from the terminal
I already picked it up that night. I wasn’t going to trust that same driver to “make another attempt.”
my postal driver does the same thing
always tosses teh little pink tag in my box even though im home… he never comes to teh door to try to deliver any packages that i am having delivered via Postal …
last time when i went to pick it up the person at the local post office told me that i must not have been home… and when i told them i was and watched him put the pink slip in the box, they just stared at me with this blank look
I talked to the manager who told me basically you are SOL…
it has happened 3x since then and each time it sucks balls…
I think im going to put dog shit on the handle to my mailbox…
Freek, you’re dealing with a business, so if you complain up the chain at corporate most likely something will get done.
Viper, you’re dealing with a government entity, so if you complain it will simply be ignored. About once a month the postal carrier on my street would mis-deliver everyone’s mail by one house (if I’m 100, I’d get 101, 101 would get 102, 102 would get 103 etc etc right down the whole street). Despite multiple complaints nothing ever happened to her. Eventually she fell and broke her leg, went out on disability and we got a better mailman. Well, I heard she fell, maybe one of my neighbors finally just clubbed the bitch.
Are UPS drivers union labor?
Maybe talk to Beast? (Or does he work at Fedex, I forget.)
Buy a tiger, when they fail to deliver your mail/package you show up with said animal at their place of employment.
i am 99% sure they are
ups drivers are union
Oder a package and wait in your mail for the UPS man. When he arrives pee on his face out of your mail box hiding spot. Win win.
Seriously just keep complaining, I hate when people are lazy and don’t do their simple fu*$ing jobs.
My UPS guy is fantastic. My FedEX guy can seriously go fuck himself. FedEX pulls that same shit on me all the time, I found a first attempt sticker on one of the side windows to my house one time. If I order something priority AM next day, it’s guaranteed by 10:30am, and the online shows as delivered usually at 10:28am, but the jackass doesn’t show up until after lunch usually. I do EVERYTHING I can to use UPS, not FedEX. Everytime I’ve called to complain they basically say “too bad”. And pickup the package after they’ve supposed “attempted” to deliver it when I’ve been at my house when they claim they “tried”? Forget about it, trucks don’t get back till after 7pm and the depot closes to the public at 6pm. My local UPS depot is open till 9pm and the guys have opened the doors after hours to allow me to pickup large freight packages.
I have lots of rage over package deliveries and drivers.
Well that explains why there are grossly over paid. $74,000 to drive a truck around?!?
Wow, that sounds really retarded.
The UPS guys I have had deliver at my house are usually awesome about stuff. Any threat of rain, it is in bags, if it is windy he sticks the boxes under the deck table so it won’t blow all over the place and stuff. Really nice guy, but I guess it is like most places, you can have really good people and you have complete and utter douchebags that can’t do their job correctly.
This is very true…
My wife flipped shit on him the other day cuz he stuffed a KINDLE in our standard size mailbox… she had to get a neighbor to help her pull the damn thing out… it was in there so good, that when they pulled it out it bent the folded over lip on my steel mailbox back out with it… i have NO IDEA how he got it in there in teh first place, or why he thought it was a good idea to acordian the box like that…
i told her she should have took pics… but it was a anniversary present and she didnt tell me about it until 2 weeks later
I bought a set of LS1 heads online and had them shipped USPS. The tracking number never updated from awaiting pickup or whatever it says in the very beginning, I thought the guy was trying to screw me, about a week after I expected them to be here I called the post office, they said that the box had been sitting there for a week and nobody picked it up because it was heavy.:shoot:
So far I haven’t had any problems with UPS or Fedex even though I have a super long driveway.
damn. UPS is usually always on their game. Fedex likes to leave my speakers in the driveway or my wifes Keurig on the front porch.
i’ve never had a problem with either… i find this all kinda surprising because i have a lot of stuff shipped with both companies in the US all the time.
video tape it… youtube it… blog it…
On the other hand, BAX Global is a total fuckery. They would bring my stuff to my PO Box and ask them for payment even though i already paid for it up front… then the boxes had holes in them and i lost some parts that i couldnt get warrantied or exchanged because i coudlnt prove it.
Bax global can eat dicks and die
I still think the best UPS move I had was when I paid a small fortune to get a Radiator over-nighted from CA to NY. Well, they dropped the ball somewhere along the way… so what did they do? They INVENTED a weather emergency at that airport, which even the airport confirmed never happened. They claimed rain and high winds, weather channel showed calm and sunny. All to get out of having to pay back the gauranteed charge, and with no recourse because of “act of god”
Oh, and I cant forget about the time they screwed up on an international package, and wanted to get paid TWICE for that shipment. It was sent Collect, and paid for overseas on a UPS account. UPS International confirmed it was paid. Then UPS Domestic started sending letters demanding payment for a shipment that THEY NEVER TOUCHED, that was already paid for. They never bothered to actually contact their sister company to confirm payment, and would not listen to ANYTHING we had to say, up to and including the fucking PAID invoice from UPS International.
Winnars.
I’m a carrier in Tonawanda and i see that a lot of the older guys are extremely lazy and don’t care, so they just deliver the slip. You can just fill out the back of that slip and leave it as an outgoing piece and they will deliver it, or pick it up at the post office the next day. There’s nothing you can really do except call and hope the supervisor does their job and talk to the carrier, or stop getting signature confirmation parcels delivered lol
Not sure about UPS, but FedEx Ground drivers own their own trucks, routes and have to pay for all maintenance costs.
