yeah, they were pretty fascinating. i was surprised when i saw that the Caprice had the keys still in it. although, if you’re leaving a car in that kind of place, you probably don’t give a fuck in the first place…
i like those Caprices, minus the wheel covers in the back…i remember as a kid when those were the norm for police
Love this thread. Cool pics of those cars, but it always amazes me how people will just leave cars to go to waste. Even if they aren’t piles to begin with, why let them rot? I just don’t understand that at all.
I’d love to get more into this kind of stuff. So far I have only done some mild exploring of Allegany State Park. Found some abandoned buildings and an abandoned group camp. I also found the settlement New Ireland with only a map, a compass, and a mention of where it might be located by a historian we met. A lot of old building foundations and farming implements from the early 1900s. When I was younger I used to hike a lot and I loved finding crazy stuff in the woods. Found some burned out trucks, old log cabins, an abandoned shooting range with a main building and two small concrete bunker type buildings used for launching clays i think. We found our way in to anything with just a pocket knife and whatever we could find in the woods.
Excellent pictures of Chernobyl/Pripyat, and the Sarcophagus over the damaged #4 reactor. From what I understand they can only let you get so close. A dosimeter is a required accessory.
